Yummy Carbs

Whaa? I havent posted in half a year. I got busy working, taking tests to further my career as a teacher, and helping my husband graduate, sorry all! :D

Anyway, a couple days ago, I made Pizza Casserole from a recipe I was given when I got married. However, I totally changed it up and made it taste 100 times better! I also made a loaf of Banana Bread from a recipe some distant relative wrote. Such a delicious night. Got your cooking brain on? Here we go:

Pizza Casserole
1      lb ground beef
1      pkg (or 24 deli slices) pepperoni
1/2   tsp black pepper
1      med. onion, chopped (or 1 tsp onion powder * if using powder, add with rest of seasonings)
1      tsp oregano
1/2   tsp salt
1 1/2 cups macaroni noodles (or 2 1/2 cups bow tie pasta)
2       jars Ragu pizza sauce (14 oz)
16     oz mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown hamburger and onion, drain. Cook macaroni and combine with meat. Add spices. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer 1/2 mixed meat and pasta, 1 jar sauce, 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 cheese. Repeat. Bake for 30 mins.

Banana Bread
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 bananas
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and shortening in mixing bowl. Add eggs, bananas, salt, and baking soda. mix well. Slowly add flour until blended. Bake in loaf pan for 1 hour or until done.

Happy eating to all. :D
